We built this solid wood dining table for our family. It was designed to be sturdy, but also to allow for easy movement while still providing a comfortable seating spot.

In the early days of the game, we used solid wood instead of metal and used metal with aluminum. One advantage of solid wood is that it is lighter than metal, and you can stand on it for about five minutes while you eat. It’s also more durable than metal, so you can stand on it for about a half hour while you eat.

The table we chose was a 10-foot-long, 10-inch-wide piece of solid pine. It’s about 3 inches thick and weighs 4 pounds. We did a complete re-engineering of it to make it lighter, stronger, and more durable. We got rid of the legs, added some metal-hinge pieces, and added a back brace. When we’re playing, we put the legs on the table and stand on it while eating.
